1966 World Championship

This was the first World Championship kart event to be held in Copenhagen and used a high speed 655 meter long circuit. The format for that years championship was to run three trial heats for the 42 driver field, consisting of 15 laps per heat. The 18 quickest drivers from the heats automatically progressed to three final races. The remaining 24 drivers had a second chance to progress by contesting a 20 lap upgrade heat. The top 2 drivers from this race joined the 18 others for the three final races.

 

The event was completely dominated by female racer Susanna Raganelli who not only won all three heats but each of the three finals too. Keke would finish in 15th place and the highest placed Finnish racer.

1967 Finland vs Sweden - National Match

The national race between Finland and Sweden in 1967 was held at the Bembölen kart track in Espoo, Finland. The Swedish team comfortable beat their Finnish neighbours, scoring a total of 253 points to Finland’s 156. Keke would score a total of 48 points for his country, was the highest scoring Finnish driver and achieved the second highest overall score.

1968 Finnish Championship

The championship consisted of four races at Iisalmi, Mynämäki, Keimola and Turku. The points system used was: 11-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the top 10 drivers at each race. Only the best three results for each driver counted towards the final points standings with the worst result being dropped.

1968 Finland vs Sweden - National Match

The follow-up to national race between Finland and Sweden was held at the Rocklunda track in Sweden for the 1968 edition. The team chosen by the Finnish Karting Association was as follows: Antero Lindqvist, Keke Rosberg, Jaakko Korpijaakko, Heikki Korpijaakko, Heikki Grahn, Asko Kippo, Jouko Kuokkanen and Matti Virtanen. 

 

Finland won with 252 points to Sweden’s 226, reversing the result from the year before. Antero Lindqvist was the highest Finnish scorer with 49 points and Keke the second highest matching his total of 48 points from the previous year.

1968 European Championship

This was Finland's first time participating in the European Championship. The team chosen by the Finnish Karting Association was as follows: Antero Lindqvist, Keke Rosberg, Jaakko Korpijaakko, Heikki Grahn, Matti Virtanen (Virtanen replaced Heikki Grahn).

 

Finland finished 8th among the 11 participating countries, beating the French, Belgian and Danish teams. Keke was the best scoring Finnish driver at the event.
